Residents are advised that due to a change in WA Regulations, the disposal of electronic waste (e-waste) into the Shire’s landfill is now prohibited. All e-waste must be separated, stored and removed to the mainland regularly for recycling.

Examples of e-waste are all household whitegoods, computers and cables, televisions, mobile phones, light globes and air conditioners. A complete list of the items considered as e-waste is available by contacting the Shire Office.

Staff at the Shire’s landfill will be recording the details of all e-waste entering the site for reporting purposes and will be directing residents to a stockpile area. Please separate any e-waste items from general waste and ensure the items are free from any serious damage that may affect the recycling companies’ ability to recover materials.
