The Shire of Christmas Island is seeking applications from members of the public to join the Shire of Christmas Island Fishery Management Committee.

The FMC was created as a response to the proposed CI Draft Fisheries Ordinance in 2020. It has been pivotal in informing the agreed approach between Islanders and the Commonwealth in managing the fisheries responsibly.

Interested parties can nominate to join the FMC through contacting the Shire CEO David Price during office hours at 9164 8300 or by email shire.ceo@shire.gov.cx by end of business November 18th 2023.
