Line Marking
The Shire has funding to repaint line marking twice each year. However, Christmas Island has special features that make line marking fade more quickly than normal. In particular:
-
the roads are mostly sealed with white aggregate, readily available on island and
-
the linemarking are quickly coated with phosphate dust, regularly present on island.
